On Thursday morning, FBI agents searched the Maryland home of former national security adviser and outspoken critic of the president, John Bolton. He served under President Donald Trump from 2018 to 2019.

The FBI declined to comment on the raids, but FBI agents were seen near the former US national security adviser’s home in the Washington, D.C. area. At least four to six agents were seen entering the house, and the FBI was seen talking to a person on the porch.
Bolton said he had no idea what the FBI was doing.

How did FBI officials react?

FBI Director Kash Patel’s social media post on Friday, “Agents were on a ‘mission’,” sparked news of the search, but it was not clear what it was about. He made the post on Friday, August 22.
At the same time, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino shared the post, which said that “public corruption will not be tolerated.”
“America’s security is not compromised. Justice will be served. Always.” Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a stark warning
Bolton’s 2020 memoir, “The Room Where It Happened,” contains classified material and there was an attempt to block its publication, but a federal judge later allowed the book to be published.
Trump fired Bolton from his first administration in 2019 for “strong disagreements” with the policy.
